From Mosquitoes to Machine Learning: Scientists Gather at FGV EMAp to Boost Pandemic Preparedness
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – September 1–4, 2025 – Top scientists and public health leaders will gather for the II International Colloquium on Mathematical and Computational Modelling in Epidemiology, a four-day event focused on using data, models, and simulations to strengthen disease monitoring and pandemic preparedness.
The program will cover syndromic surveillance, vector dynamics, immunoprofiling and phylodynamics, and synthetic modelling, with keynote speakers including Samuel Scarpino, Troy Day, Sylvain Gandon, and Jane Heffernan. Highlights include sessions on real-time data integration, mosquito control innovations, and advanced modelling techniques for predicting pathogen evolution. The event will also feature a poster session and networking night to spark interdisciplinary collaboration.
