About Daniel Weitzel
Daniel Weitzel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and a faculty affiliate at the Data Science Research Institute at Colorado State University. He is also a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Vienna. His research focuses on democracy, democratic backsliding, negative campaigning, and the strategic behavior of political actors, utilizing text data and machine learning to analyze political dynamics. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin and has extensive experience in studying the interaction between political parties and voters.
