About the event

The scientific event FGV EMAp 15 Years: Multidisciplinarity in Mathematics and Data Science will take place from November 9 to 13, 2026, at the Cultural Center Auditorium of Fundação Getulio Vargas, as part of the celebrations marking the 15th anniversary of the School of Applied Mathematics of Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV EMAp).


The event will bring together Brazilian and international researchers, students, alumni, and professionals to celebrate FGV EMAp’s 15-year history and discuss advances and challenges in Applied Mathematics and Data Science, covering the following FGV EMAp research areas: Optimal Control and Optimization, Finance and Risk, Differential Equations and Stochastic Systems, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, Quantitative Methods in Epidemiology and Health, and Statistics.

The program will feature:


Plenary lectures by leading international researchers in their respective fields;

Thematic minisymposia, bringing together researchers from FGV EMAp as well as Brazilian and international researchers;

Roundtable discussions with FGV EMAp alumni currently working in academia and the private sector;

Poster presentations by undergraduate research students and graduate students from FGV EMAp, as well as students from other institutions.

The FGV EMAp 15 Years event was designed to foster interaction across different fields and bring together researchers, students, and professionals at different stages of their careers, creating opportunities to present research, exchange ideas, and develop new collaborations.
